Camping: Time and Manner

At the June 20, 2022 Council meeting, the City Council adopted the camping ordinance that included modifications to the “Time” and the “Manner”. Staff recommended allowing camping on public property only during the hours of 9:00 pm to 7:00 am to address the “Time” portion.  To address the “Manner” portion, Staff recommended allowing reasonable measures for individuals to keep warm and dry which would include a bedroll or sleeping bag, tarpaulins, or a small tent.  The “Place” portion which is anticipated to be discussed at the July 18th Council meeting will include a proposed list of public properties where camping is not allowed.
